Job Hunting? Don't Get Scammed!

It may be tempting to go for amazing job offers, but beware for you may find more than you bargained for.

While applying to jobs on the all-powerful multipurpose site, CraigsList, I stumbled upon a job that was far too good to be true.
Nothing too out of the ordinary here, more or less what many legit listings provide on the site (trust me, I've seen tons), save for that amazing pay. I mean, who wouldn't pass up $22.89 an hour?! And with bare minimum requirements, it was sure to draw a lot of applicants.

I sent in my resume and got a reply the next day with a fairly strange message. Nothing that would throw up flags, especially for someone growing up in the internet age, but a little strange nonetheless...

LeakyCon 2013 ~ A Not-So-Very Potter Review

Harry Potter is 15 years old (16 if you're in the UK). It's touched millions of people, created millions of fans, and will probably go down in history as one of the biggest pieces of pop culture (and/or literature) from the beginning of the third millennium. And, much like the Trekkies and Ringers from previous generations, Harry Potter fans have sought brotherhood among their own kind in gatherings and conventions.

Most notable among these conventions in the US is LeakyCon, organized by founders of The-Leaky-Cauldron website. The site has been one of the biggest HP news sites ever since its start in 2000, and has since held interviews with J.K. Rowling, published predictive books, and hosted the renowned PotterCast podcast. They are considered one of the premiere sources of HP knowledge, resources, crafts, etc. on the web.

It only follows that attending one of their conventions would be a once in a lifetime experience, right?

Heroes of Cosplay ~ Part 3: Heroes of Drama

We weren't sure what week three's MegaCon had in store for us, but we knew one thing for sure: Chloe had better be in it! The Just Cos host had won our hearts, and we were sure any further experiences from her viewpoint would surely be time well spent.

Good news was she was definitely a reoccurring cast member — she was in the credit sequence, after all. Bad news was she was definitely not going to be a star of the show. Insert angrily dumping tea...
