Questing for Resurrection

Chapters
7Days!
By Buff Studio

A number of dead spirits have been assigned to a test. Successfully completing the test ensures they will be resurrected.
The messenger of death has assigned them each a task. They must attack one another or work together to complete their tasks.
Your character, Kirell, must also complete the task she has been assigned.
But her tasks requires that others die.

She has only seven days.
What choices will you make?

Seven Days is a text mystery adventure game enjoyable for all audiences, with uniquely styled illustrations. The game proceeds as a series of chats, and users read through the story as they make important decisions. The choices made determine the route the story takes.

Every choice you make changes your story.
Small choices add up to transform your relationships with comrades and determine your destiny and those of your comrades at critical moments.

You can choose to become the ultimate villain, or a trustworthy friend.
Everything depends on what you decide.

Not too much detail to dive into this time around. From start to finish, one storyline probably takes about 20-30 minutes if you have enough tickets to make all your choices without waiting. Yeah, this one's a ticket-based progression system, but instead of each day/chapter taking a ticket, this time it's every choice you make. There are no free choices. And unfortunately it's not always the same number of tickets per choice. I think ones that don't have any measure on the outcome are 5 tickets each, but choices that actually affect the story cost more.

You can refresh tickets every 5 minutes by watching an ad, and it's a pretty good amount at 70 tickets. So far that's lasted me just about 5 minutes in-game, unless I hit a choice-heavy section. There's also the option to 'get more tickets' by hitting benchmarks in other apps, but I haven't felt the need to delve into that quagmire of content yet, so I can't say whether or not they're worth it. There is no automatic regeneration for tickets, though, so you do have to keep an eye on the clock to accrue more.

Gameplay in 7Days is mostly text-based, resembling a phone's texting format. You interact with 1 to 4 people at a time, with your picture and speech on the right and everyone else's on the left. As you progress through the story you earn friendship points with the other characters, leading you down various storylines.

The game starts with a short introduction and questionnaire that sets the ball rolling. Once you've 'chosen' your starting companion, you begin making the tough choices on who you want to ingratiate yourself towards and how you want to go about solving your quest. You can view your stats at any time, those being your friendship levels and your progress along the storyline map. If I'm reading the map right, it doesn't seem technically linear or branching - so it doesn't seem like early choices necessarily lock you in - but there are a total of 4 endings. I've gotten 2 so far, but I'm playing through again to see if I can't unlock the others.

Overall, it's an interesting morality play with decision-making built in. The artstyle isn't anything to write home about, but it services the narrative okay. I enjoyed the characters and their goals, and seeing the twists and turns was fun. It's not a bad way to spend some downtime if you want a quick story to explore once or twice, but I don't think it will be a go-to app for the long-term.

Well, have you played it? Let me know what you think.
